St James' C of E Primary School, Blackburn

School Council

The school council is made up of representatives from each year group, which have been elected by each class. The primary aim of the school council is to gather and promote the student voice.

The School Council:

* Attend School Council meetings at lunchtime to take part in discussions

* Feedback to our class about what has been discussed at the meeting and take the views of our classmates back to the School Council

* Raise money for local causes and charities

* Raise awareness for different projects in and around school

* Plan and take part in assemblies

What we are working on now:

* Raising money throughout the year for different charities

* Improving the school dinners and procedures at lunchtime

* Collecting ideas for our friendship week

* Writing articles for the school newsletter and school noticeboards
