Welcome to St James' C of E Primary School in Blackburn. I would like to thank you for taking the time to visit our website and learn more about the wonderful things our staff and children do here. We are a larger-than-average primary school with a dedicated Forest School Pre-school and Nursery where we all strive to be exceptional in all we do.
If you are here because your child is due to start school next September or you are considering an in-year transfer, we would like to invite you to a very special open day - your own personal open day. Rather than host a one-off generic open day for all the parents interested in choosing St James', we would encourage you to contact the school on 01254 698335 to make an appointment for a personal tour of our Reception classes and the whole school so that you can make an informed decision about where to send your child. It's a big decision, and we want to help you ensure that you find the right school for you and your family.
We update our website regularly and publish our weekly newsletter with all the latest news from school. We are proud of everything we do here so we'd encourage you to find out more - whether you are a parent of a child at our school, a prospective parent, or just interested!
Our Mission Statement succinctly describes our school:
"Together we value, inspire and develop each other within a happy, safe community based on Christian values and respect for other faiths"
I'm sure if you visit us, you will see this lived out in our distinctive school every day. Please stay safe, and do not hesitate to contact us if there is anything we can do to help. You can get in touch by emailing email@example.com or calling 01254 698335.
Mr. Doug Stitcher
Attendance is Key!
This academic year, with the difficulties of Covid mostly behind us, we are having a renewed focus on attendance.
It is essential that your child comes to school every day. This is where they will learn the skills they need to equip themselves as they move through education and become confident, independent and responsible global citizens.
Keeping your child away from school when they are well enough to be here will have a negative impact on them.
So please, if it's a school day, send them our way!
