Our aim in the Forest Pre-School and Nursery is to provide children with a happy and safe environment in which they can make an exceptional start to their early education.
St James' Forest Pre-School and Nursery provides 15 or 30 hours of free early education per week for entitled 3 and 4-year-old children and paid for childcare places. Please call the main office, 01254 698335 for more information.
On entry to the Forest Pre-School and Nursery, children are assigned a key worker who quickly develops strong relationships with the children and their families. Throughout each session, children participate in a wide range of both self-selected and adult-led activities. The classroom is bright and spacious. Our children have plenty of opportunities to explore the large outdoor area, whatever the weather. We provide plenty of opportunities for children to learn through play; exploring, investigating, and extending their ideas and interests. We also have several short, focussed activities planned into each session where children work on specific skills with the class teacher or their key worker. This ensures children are school-ready by the time they transition from the Forest Pre-School and Nursery into Reception.
The Forest Pre-School and Nursery was officially opened on Tuesday 22nd September 2015 by the Right Reverend Philip North, Bishop of Burnley.
